Edward F. Mrkvicka, Jr.
More About the Author
Ed, after serving in the Air Force from 1965-1969, began his career in banking. By 1976 he was the youngest bank president in America.
After retiring in 1982 he opened Reliance Enterprises, Inc., a nationally known financial consulting firm. During this time he also started his writing career by publishing: Battle Your Bank & Win! (William Morrow & Co.), Moving Up (William Morrow & Co), 1037 Ways To Make Or Save Up To$100,000 This Year Alone (Instant Improvement), The Rational Investor (Probus), The Bank Book (HarperCollins), Your Bank Is Ripping You Off (St. Martin’s Press), and Pick Winning Stocks (J.K. Lasser). Most of his financial books have had numerous printings and editions. Some were award-winning, while others are used in college classrooms.
Through it all, Ed witnessed for his first love, Jesus. In fact, it was during his time in the military, while stationed on a Turkish Air Base, that he became a lay minister to his fellow servicemen. That ministry continues to this day.
In 2006 he was finally able to publish a book near and dear to his heart, "Be Not Deceived,” a book devoted to God’s biblical truth about salvation. “Be Not Deceived” was named “Best Christian Book of the Year,” “Best Christian Study of the Year,” was a National Book Awards Finalist, and a winner in The Christian Choice Book Awards. It also received the Faith Writers Seal of Approval as an “Outstanding Read.”
Ed’s second Christian book, The Prayer Promise of Christ, was named Christian Book of the Year by Books & Authors.net.
Ed’s ministry is devoted to the absolute truth of the Bible, which is reflected in his Christian writing. He tries to help all those who ask, especially when their difficulty involves the family. He is so devoted to children and saving marriages. To that end, he penned another "Christian Book of the Year," "No Innocent Affair."
His most recent book, "The Sin of Forgiveness," is available nationwide and on Amazon.com and Barnes&Noble.com.
Ed lives in rural Illinois with his son Eddie and his daughter Kelly.
Here's Ed in the early 1950's reading the Bible given to him by his loving Christian parents, Edward "Babe" and Ruth.
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. Deuteronomy 6:7
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
